Fr. Jason is a native of Plaquemine, Louisiana and a graduate of St. John High School. He received a dual Bachelors degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Louisiana State University in December 2000. Fr. Jason then worked at Edward Jones Investments as a Branch Office Administrator, a job that he loved dearly, until he felt called to the seminary in August 2002. After five years of priestly formation at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, he received his Master of Divinity degree and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Baton Rouge in May 2007. Since then, he has completed the Good Leaders, Good Shepherds program offered through the Catholic Leadership Institute. His previous assignments include a year as associate pastor at Christ the King Church and Student Center at LSU, and a year as associate pastor at St. Michael, St. Joseph, and Sacred Heart Churches in St. James civil parish. In addition to his current role as a pastor, he serves as an Advocate for the Tribunal of Baton Rouge--working with individuals who wish to seek an ecclesiastical annulment. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, making rosaries, doing renovation work, traveling to Disney theme parks, and working with miniatures (he manages to put up a large Christmas village each year).
