Order of Christian Initiation of Adults

OCIA sessions are for adults/children, not yet baptized or previously baptized in another Christian Faith, who may be interested in joining the Catholic faith. The OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process of conversion that leads to the initiation sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the Catholic faith, or would like to join the Church, please join Fr. Jason and members of our OCIA team for inquiry. Inquiry is a “no obligation, no pressure” way for members of different faiths to have their questions answered about the Catholic Church. Inquiry will be held on Tuesday nights at St. Joseph and will last for three weeks. Those who wish to join the Catholic Church after inquiry will be invited to further sessions held throughout the Fall and Spring. For more information, contact Adrienne Halpen at 225-695-6223 or call the parish office at 225-698-3110. OCIA sessions are open for anyone to attend. Parishioners, come and support those choosing to learn more about the Catholic Faith. Volunteers who would be willing to send simple refreshments for our OCIA participants for one or more of the sessions. OCIA sessions, held on Tuesday nights from September – Easter, are open to anyone as continued spiritual growth.

O.C.I.A. will kick-off in August on Mondays @6:30pm, St. Joseph Catholic Church.
