Children’s Church is scheduled on the third Sunday of each month at St. Joseph church during the 9:00 A.M. Mass. This children’s ministry is designed to provide meaningful catechesis for young children during Mass time, using child appropriate language and activities, while still maintaining the uniformity of the scripture readings.
During the Mass, the celebrant calls the children forth for a blessing, upon which they exit the church with the catechists in a special procession, toward a classroom across from the church. Here, the children engage in the Liturgy of the Word, focusing on the same Scriptures read at Mass, but using age appropriate language to teach the message. The children participate in prayer, songs, and activities that focus on the Gospel before rejoining their family and the Liturgy of the Eucharist in the church.
All children are welcome to participate in one of the two groups:
